The Atlantic City Rotary International presented $21,000 in scholarships to 11 Atlantic County students. Mayor and Nynell Langford of Atlantic City and Chuck Wilson, Principal of Atlantic City High were presenters for the scholarships at the Hilton Casino on June 8, 2010.
Students from Atlantic City High School were awarded $2,000 each: Naima Chowdhury, Rutgers for teacher/lawyer, Melissa Gotleib , George Mason University for communications, Christina Thai, Fairleigh Dickinson University for medical, and Rensa Chen, Rutgers for biomedical.
Scholarships were awarded to Atlantic City High School Viking Academy students, Amanda H. Bethel- $1000.00, Georgian Court for Social Work, Jessica Camper- $1000.00, Georgian Court for Criminal Justice and Hakimah Smith -$2000.00, Bennett College for mathematics.
Other Atlantic County High Schools recipients of scholarships are Dominic Ruggeri, Rutgers for anthropology, Logan T. Sykes, Rutgers, Aubrey S. Corbitt , Palm Beach FL for Counseling Psychology, Samantha B. Rosengerg, Delaware University for Psychology/Public Policy.
